CNC Machinist, Heavy Industrial Parts & Boring Mills
Overview
CNC Machinist will own setup and operation of equipment for large steel mill parts at scale. You will join a on site team in Pittsburgh, PA driving precision in repair and manufacture. You will collaborate with operations, quality, and engineering to meet tight tolerances. This role offers strong OT, benefits, and room to grow within a heavy industrial environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and run setups for Horizontal Boring Mills and Vertical Turning Centers to manufacture precise steel components
- 2Design and execute tool changes and offsets to maintain tight tolerances across production and refurbishment projects
- 3Diagnose and troubleshoot CNC equipment to minimize downtime and maximize throughput
- 4Reading blueprints and specifications to ensure correct part features and tolerances during production
- 5Scale operations by optimizing processes for large heavy parts such as Shafts and Housings
- 6Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to improve part quality and cycle times
- 7Document setups, offsets, and produced parts for traceability and quality control
- 8Support continuous improvement initiatives within a rugged industrial environment
- 9Assist with preventive maintenance and calibration routines as needed
- 10Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area as per industrial standards
Requirements10
- 13-4+ years of Manual or CNC Machining experience required
- 2Set-up experience required
- 3Must be open to shift rotation (Day Shift then afternoon shift)
- 4Experience with Horizontal Boring Mills, Vertical Turning Center, Vertical Mill, or Horizontal Lathes preferred
- 5Experience Machining large, Heavy Steel Mill Parts (i.e. Shafts, Rolls, Housings) preferred
- 6Experience with the repair/refurbishment of Industrial Parts/Machines preferred
- 7Onsite Pittsburgh, PA area; able to work in a heavy industrial environment
- 8Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings
- 9Proficiency with CNC machine setup and changeover
- 10Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in a high-volume setting
