Clubhouse Engagement Specialist, Mental Health & Bilingual Spanish
Overview
Own member engagement and daily programming at Chelton Lofts, a psychosocial clubhouse for adults with diagnosed mental illness. You will coordinate opportunities for friendship, employment, housing, and access to medical and psychiatric services within a single safe space. Partner with a small team and members to build strengths, skills, and goals. Bilingual Spanish skills enhance connection with diverse members. You will drive the Transitional Employment Program and foster a culture of recovery and empowerment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Plan and carry out daily activities and projects with members, ensuring a welcoming and structured environment.
- 2Encourage members to develop leadership and work-readiness skills through coaching and role modeling.
- 3Support members with goal-setting and skill-building, tailoring approaches to individual strengths.
- 4Participate in the Transitional Employment Program, helping members secure jobs, training them, and covering shifts when needed.
- 5Attend community events and meetings to promote Chelton Lofts and learn from other clubhouses.
- 6Lead or support strategic planning projects with staff and members, focusing on long-term sustainability.
- 7Cover social and recreational activities on evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
- 8Model healthy communication between members and service providers, resolving conflicts constructively.
- 9Help onboard and train new members, staff, interns, and volunteers, ensuring smooth integration.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 23+ years in human services, preferably in mental health or clubhouse settings.
- 3Experience in a psychosocial clubhouse or mental health support program (preferred).
- 4Understanding of needs of individuals impacted by the criminal legal system (a plus).
- 5Fluency in Spanish or other languages (French, Haitian Creole, ASL) is a plus.
- 6Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- 7Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases.
- 8Ability to work with diverse populations and remain calm in emotional situations.
