Overview
Design and implement scalable backend solutions for a federal cloud and geospatial analysis platform. Build and maintain AWS native services while optimizing big data pipelines for massive geospatial datasets. This mid-level role offers ownership of both core software development and specialized data engineering tasks within a fast-growing mission-critical environment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Collaborate with team to design, build, and maintain scalable backend software solutions
- 2Develop and optimize big data pipelines to process massive geospatial datasets
- 3Design and deploy AWS cloud-native backend services and capabilities
- 4Evaluate and integrate new technologies quickly as program requirements evolve
- 5Investigate and resolve operational issues system bottlenecks and production bugs
- 6Participate in planning design and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards
- 7Ensure high performance reliability and resiliency across all backend services
- 8Own and scale distributed systems using containerization and orchestration technologies
Requirements11
- 1Current and active TS/SCI clearance
- 2Bachelor’s degree in engineering computer science or related field
- 35 or more years of software engineering experience
- 43-5 years of strong Java development skills
- 5Demonstrated experience with geospatial data processing spatial databases Postgres
- 63-5 years of AWS Docker Kubernetes and Helm experience
- 7Skill with automated deployment pipelines using GitLab CI CD Jenkins Nexus
- 8Experience with big data frameworks Apache Flink Apache Spark Apache Iceberg
- 9Linux Red Hat knowledge
- 10Python programming experience
- 11Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
