
Cloud Engineer, AWS & Enterprise Data Platform
Overview
Own cloud infrastructure for the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), supporting trusted data insights for a federal Board. You will design, deploy, and maintain AWS environments at 100% onsite in Washington, DC. You will work alongside data engineers and platform teams to ensure security, reliability, and scalability. This contract requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to pass a Public Trust clearance. You will drive cloud architecture decisions that directly impact data governance and analytics.
What You'll Do9
- 1Design and implement AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform for the EDP platform.
- 2Deploy and manage containerized applications on Kubernetes (EKS) with Docker.
- 3Automate CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab to accelerate delivery.
- 4Configure monitoring and alerting with CloudWatch and Prometheus to ensure high availability.
- 5Manage IAM roles and policies to maintain FedRAMP compliance and security.
- 6Optimize cost and performance by right-sizing resources and implementing auto-scaling.
- 7Collaborate with data engineers to provision S3 buckets and Redshift clusters.
- 8Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.
- 9Document architecture and runbooks for operational excellence.
Requirements8
- 15+ years hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer or DevOps Engineer.
- 23+ years deploying and managing workloads on AWS.
- 3Strong proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- 4Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker containerization.
- 5Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
- 6Knowledge of networking, security groups, and IAM in AWS.
- 7Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- 8Familiarity with FedRAMP or government cloud security standards.
