Overview

Full-time Software Engineer leading development of mission-critical GEOINT applications for NGA. Design and ship secure high-quality software solutions using modern web technologies and cloud-native architectures. Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver innovative capabilities supporting national security missions.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Develop test maintain software applications using Java and/or Python
  • 2Design implement web application features using modern development frameworks
  • 3Integrate structured unstructured data using relational and non-relational database technologies
  • 4Support development of geospatial and GIS-enabled applications and services
  • 5Participate in code reviews unit testing debugging and software integration activities
  • 6Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver capabilities within scheduled sprint cycles
  • 7Apply secure coding practices and support security-focused software development processes
  • 8Assist with troubleshooting performance tuning and continuous improvement of existing applications
  • 9Contribute to technical documentation system design discussions and software lifecycle activities
  • 10Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance within the development team
  • 11Design and implement scalable cloud-native solutions using Docker Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines

Requirements11

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Systems or related technical discipline
  • 25+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3Experience developing applications using Java Python or both
  • 4Demonstrated experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases including data modeling querying and performance optimization
  • 5Understanding of software architecture design patterns and object-oriented programming principles
  • 6Experience within Agile software development environments and participation in all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • 7Knowledge of secure software development practices and implementation of security requirements
  • 8Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with independent collaborative ability
  • 9TS/SCI security clearance with willingness to undergo polygraph examination
  • 10Experience developing geospatial or GIS-enabled applications using ArcGIS GeoServer OpenLayers Leaflet Cesium or similar platforms
  • 11Support for intelligence defense or federal government customers within classified environments
