Clinical Technician II, Medical Renal
Overview
You will own direct patient care for the Medical Renal unit at VHC Health, a 300+ bed acute care hospital in Washington, DC. Working under the direct supervision of an RN, you'll deliver daily living support, monitor patient changes, and maintain a safe environment. 6+ months of clinical experience and BLS certification prepare you for this role. What You'll Do7
- 1Perform direct patient care including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition support for Medical Renal patients.
- 2Observe and report changes in patient status to the supervising RN within the first 30 days.
- 3Maintain a clean and safe environment using infection control protocols and fall prevention measures.
- 4Transport patients to and from procedures and departments, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- 5Document patient interactions and vitals in the EHR system, Epic.
- 6Assist with dialysis preparation and post-procedure monitoring under RN direction.
- 7Communicate patient needs and concerns to the care team during shift handoffs.
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 26+ months of experience as a Clinical Technician I or equivalent clinical experience.
- 3Completion or enrollment in a Clinical Technician II program, or student nurse with completed medical/surgical clinicals.
- 4BLS certification required.
- 5Minimum 6 education hours related to the current role.
