Overview

You will provide direct patient care in the Postpartum and Pediatrics units at VHC Health, performing activities of daily living, monitoring patient status changes, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. You will work under the direct supervision of an RN, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery. With BLS certification required, this role suits a Clinical Technician I or nursing student ready to advance. As a per-diem technician, you will build flexible clinical experience in a hospital setting.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Perform direct patient care activities on the Postpartum and Pediatrics units, including assisting with activities of daily living and maintaining patient hygiene.
  • 2Monitor and report changes in patient status to the supervising RN, documenting observations accurately.
  • 3Transport patients within the hospital as needed, ensuring safety and comfort during transfers.
  • 4Maintain a clean and orderly patient environment, restocking supplies and preparing rooms for admissions.
  • 5Support the nursing team by completing routine clinical tasks within the scope of a Clinical Technician II.
  • 6Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to promote a compassionate care experience.
  • 7Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, upholding VHC Health standards.
  • 8Complete documentation and charting in the electronic health record for assigned tasks.

Requirements5

  • 1High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 26 months of experience as a Clinical Technician I or equivalent clinical experience as defined in CORE skills.
  • 3Completion or enrollment in Clinical Technician II program, or student nurses who have completed medical/surgical clinical rotations.
  • 4BLS certification required.
  • 5Minimum 6 education hours related to current role.
