Clinical Child Psychologist - Early Psychosis
Overview
Children’s Behavioral and Mental Health Center seeks a Clinical Psychologist to lead outpatient CLEAR Clinic services for youth ages 0-21 experiencing serious mental illness with psychosis. The role involves delivering pharmacotherapy, individual psychotherapy, caregiver training, and case management while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. What You'll Do11
- 1Design and deliver evidence based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis Family Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Psychosis
- 2Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for pediatric patients
- 3Lead therapeutic sessions and coordinate care with psychiatrists nurses and social workers
- 4Supervise doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows within the clinic
- 5Maintain detailed treatment notes and collaborate with families to create individualized care plans
- 6Develop and implement assessment protocols that integrate infection control and growth considerations
- 7Provide translation of clinical findings into actionable therapeutic strategies
- 8Coordinate with school systems for student re entry and educational program development
- 9Document weekly treatment notes following established clinical standards
- 10Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and pursue ongoing professional development
- 11Mentor staff through regular feedback and collaborative supervision
Requirements11
- 1Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in Georgia prior to start date
- 2Board certification obtained within hospital timelines
- 3PhD or PsyD from APA accredited program with completed APA child internship
- 4Minimum four years of direct experience in pediatric mental health settings
- 5Proven ability to conduct family therapy and write research publications
- 6Basic Life Support certification available within thirty days of employment
- 7Expertise in treating children and adolescents using evidence based approaches
- 8Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems
- 9Strong communication skills for interacting with patients families and interdisciplinary teams
- 10Commitment to cultural competence and equity in mental health care
- 11Ability to work flexible hours in a fast paced environment
