Client Engagement Manager at BCBSM | Healthcare Sales
Overview
You will own retention and growth for assigned accounts, supporting strategic financial and performance goals at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. You will execute core sales activities: strategic planning, sales consultations, and renewal support, interfacing with agencies and consultants. You will work with internal teams like Underwriting and Finance to align pricing and product solutions. This role requires deep healthcare product knowledge, including Medicare Advantage and self-funding arrangements, and a valid Michigan Accident and Health Insurance License within 90 days.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build multi-year strategic account plans that identify growth opportunities, risks, and mitigations for assigned accounts.
- 2Present these plans to leadership and external partners, driving annual strategic discussions and alignment.
- 3Advise on benefit design, funding options, and financial tradeoffs, pulling in specialists for complex issues.
- 4Consult with business areas to confirm solution feasibility before finalizing sales recommendations.
- 5Uncover buying habits and decision processes, gaining trust with key decision makers.
- 6Use feedback and data to spot service enhancements and new program opportunities.
- 7Educate accounts on BCBSM products and programs, coordinating with Underwriting and Finance on pricing for renewals and proposals.
- 8Lead issue resolution for sales and renewals, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on progress.
- 9Drive cross-sell and up-sell opportunities to finalist presentations and closed sales.
Requirements10
- 15+ years in sales and account management, with a Bachelor's in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 2Michigan Accident and Health Insurance License and driver's license required within 90 days of start.
- 3Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred.
- 4Deep knowledge of Medicare Advantage, self-funding, stop loss, ancillary, pharmacy, and product buy-ups.
- 5Strong grasp of financial arrangements and medical economics, plus competitor offerings.
- 6Ability to synthesize client feedback and resolve concerns, surfacing risks.
- 7Clear communication across channels like CRM, documents, and calls.
- 8Skill in articulating BCBSM's value story and linking products to account strategies.
- 9Analytical capacity to understand healthcare, clinical, and financial data.
- 10Proven collaboration and influence across teams and stakeholders.
