Clerical Healthcare Administrator, TRICARE & Referrals
Overview
Healthcare administration role focused on processing specialty referrals and patient education at a military medical facility. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and manage referral workflows to ensure timeliness and accuracy within TRICARE guidelines
- 2Coordinate with specialty clinics and reviewers to obtain medical necessity determinations
- 3Provide patient education on referrals, procedures, and labs to prep for appointments
- 4Review and verify patient demographics, eligibility, and enrollment information across medical systems
- 5Print, submit, and track diagnostic reports and treatment profiles for network and non-network appointments
- 6Generate referral-related patient communications and clinical decision-making notes for providers
- 7Track ROFRs and referral outcomes within established timeframes
- 8Import and scan CLR records into patient medical histories and prepare data reports
- 9Direct patients to travel benefits and coordinate with travel coordinators as needed
- 10Deliver courteous, professional customer service and effective receptionist support
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED equivalency
- 22 years healthcare administrative experience in inpatient or outpatient settings
- 3HIPAA knowledge and basic life support (BLS)
- 4Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- 5Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and basic office software
- 6Experience with TRICARE benefits knowledge preferred
- 7ICD-9 coding knowledge preferred
- 8Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple administrative tasks
- 9Strong in-person and telephone etiquette, professional demeanor
- 10Compliance with medical ethics and confidentiality standards
