What You'll Do11
- 1Pay benefits and process payments
- 2Call treating physicians for work status updates
- 3Contact employers for determination of mod-duty RTW status
- 4Calculate wage loss and wage statements within 14 days
- 5Maintain diary system for benefit payments
- 6Set up and monitor autopay systems
- 7Complete two-point contact on indemnity claims
- 8Record accident details in notepad
- 9Send defense attorney referrals with appropriate records
- 10Schedule injured workers and send permanent disability reports
- 11Copy work for clerical support and handle reinsurance tasks
Requirements11
- 1High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 2One year experience as Claims Clerk or similar role
- 3Knowledge of basic W.C.
- 4Pass I.E.A. or The Institutes CA 10 certification
- 5Medical terminology course completion
- 6Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- 7Ability to solve problems using logic and reasoning
- 8Experience gathering facts through active listening
- 9Basic computer skills for claims systems and Excel
- 10Responsibility for protecting patron confidentiality
- 11Attention to detail and ability to work independently
