Claim Representative, Accident & Health Claims
Overview
You will own the end-to-end disposition of assigned Accident and Health claims, from first contact through settlement, across a hybrid schedule. You will investigate coverage, assess liability, and negotiate settlements within your authority, managing a caseload that demands precision and timely communication. Collaborating with internal adjusters, appraisers, and external experts, you will ensure accurate reserves and clear documentation on every file. This role offers the chance to deepen expertise in UM/UIM and PIP claims while working alongside a supportive team at Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions.
What You'll Do8
- 1Contact all parties within required timelines, taking recorded statements to establish facts and determine coverage.
- 2Investigate each claim thoroughly, gathering accident reports, police reports, witness statements, and expert opinions as needed.
- 3Assess liability and damages, setting accurate initial reserves and adjusting them as the claim develops.
- 4Negotiate settlements within your authority, presenting clear recommendations for claims exceeding your limit.
- 5Coordinate independent adjusters, appraisers, and other resources to expedite resolution.
- 6Document all claim activity comprehensively, ensuring compliance with state license requirements and company standards.
- 7Identify suspicious claims and escalate them for further review.
- 8Stay current on state licensing and participate in required education to maintain credentials.
Requirements5
- 11-3 years of claims experience, with UM/UIM and PIP exposure preferred.
- 2Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical claims experience.
- 3Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- 4Ability to independently evaluate coverage, liability, and damages.
- 5Proficiency with claims management software and MS Office.
