Claim Representative - Accident and Health
Overview
Claim Representative leading efficient disposition of assigned claims through timely investigation and negotiation across multiple locations. Responsibilities include contacting parties, determining coverage, assessing liability, establishing reserves, directing resources, evaluating evidence, and negotiating settlements. What You'll Do11
- 1Make timely and appropriate contacts with all claim parties
- 2Determine appropriate investigation level to assess coverage liability and damages
- 3Take recorded statements from all claim participants
- 4Independently establish initial reserves and adjust as needed
- 5Assign and direct internal and external resources including adjusters and appraisers
- 6Evaluate additional evidence requirements such as accident reports and expert opinions
- 7Independently determine settlement value and negotiate proper payments
- 8Provide management recommendations for complex claims
- 9Document file activity clearly and recommend further actions
- 10Stay current with state license requirements and complete required education
- 11Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve claims efficiently
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent claims technical experience
- 21-3 years claims experience
- 3UM/UIM and Personal Injury Protection experience
- 4Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 5Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
- 6Familiarity with accident reporting and investigation processes
- 7Knowledge of insurance claim handling procedures
- 8Experience with legal documentation and settlement negotiations
- 9Commitment to ethical standards and professional conduct
