Civil Project Manager, Land Development & Site Design
Overview
The Civil Project Manager owns multiple land development and civil site design projects from proposal through completion at scale in Washington DC area. Lead client relationships, design review, budgeting, and staff management to ensure project profitability. This role blends technical civil engineering expertise with hands on project leadership and business development support. You will collaborate with local agencies, consultants, and internal teams to deliver high quality site development.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and manage multiple land development and civil site projects from proposal through completion with on time, on budget delivery.
- 2Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and detailed cost estimates for site development.
- 3Oversee preparation and review of designs, plans, reports, specifications, and other technical deliverables.
- 4Monitor project financial performance including WIP, invoicing, and collections.
- 5Serve as primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- 6Coordinate with agencies, external consultants, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
- 7Lead entitlement and permitting processes ensuring regulatory compliance.
- 8Mentor and supervise engineers and project staff guiding technical and project management tasks.
- 9Support business development by identifying repeat opportunities and expanding client relationships.
- 10Guide compliance with local jurisdictional requirements for project approvals and agency coordination.
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
- 25–8+ years of experience in civil engineering with emphasis on land development and site design
- 3Experience managing site development projects through entitlement and permitting processes
- 4Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil site design and land development projects
- 5Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain (highly preferred)
Salary Insight
$110 - $147k per year
