Circulating Nurse (RN), Ambulatory Surgery Center
Overview
As a Circulating Nurse at Westgate Cosmetic Surgery Center, you’ll deliver safe, efficient care for elective procedures in a QUAD A–certified ambulatory surgery facility. You’ll own the patient’s journey from arrival to recovery, maintaining sterile technique and serving as their advocate. Work 3 days per week with flexible days and no call, supporting a healthy adult population (ASA 1-2). Your role sits at the core of a close-knit OR team of surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs, ensuring every case runs smoothly. This position offers predictable daytime hours and the chance to specialize in cosmetic surgery while building meaningful patient relationships.
What You'll Do7
- 1Circulate for surgical cases from patient arrival through handoff to recovery, ensuring safety and comfort at every step.
- 2Serve as the patient’s advocate in the OR, monitoring their status and communicating with the team.
- 3Maintain sterile technique and manage the surgical environment, including supplies and equipment.
- 4Complete accurate, timely documentation in the EMR for every case.
- 5Assist with room turnover, restocking supplies, and preparing for subsequent procedures.
- 6Partner with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs to coordinate care and anticipate needs.
- 7Uphold QUAD A standards and follow facility policies for infection control and patient safety.
Requirements5
- 1Active Texas RN license (or compact state license) in good standing.
- 2Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- 32+ years of circulating experience in an ASC or hospital OR.
- 4CNOR certification preferred, not required.
- 5Reliable, calm under pressure, and collaborative with a patient-first mindset.
