Overview
You will run the Child Nutrition program at Harmony Science Academy, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and Harmony policies for K-5 students. You'll manage meal service, student eligibility, and daily reporting. Backed by district operations and central office, you'll collaborate with campus staff to support healthy eating. What You'll Do10
- 1Process Student Eligibility applications and complete Verification per USDA rules.
- 2Monitor lunch accounts and contact households about negative balances via calls, letters, and emails.
- 3Review daily production records and report discrepancies to district or central office.
- 4Operate Point of Service during meal periods, ensuring each student selects a reimbursable meal.
- 5Maintain documentation for Special Dietary Accommodations following USDA protocol.
- 6Run the After School Snack Program with accurate documentation.
- 7Manage the a la carte program, including ordering, inventory, and records.
- 8Implement the Local School Wellness Policy by collecting data and tracking goals.
- 9Record meal counts and revenue daily, flagging issues.
- 10Attend Harmony and TDA Child Nutrition trainings.
Requirements8
- 1High school Diploma or GED.
- 2Current Food Manager Certification accepted by Texas DSHS, preferred or within first two weeks.
- 31+ year school food service experience, preferred.
- 4Proficiency with Child Nutrition software, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- 5Strong written and oral communication with all levels.
- 6Ability to analyze data and process accurate information.
- 7Skilled in public speaking and problem-solving.
- 8Light lifting and occasional evening/weekend work.
