Chief Operating Officer, Pet Nutrition & DTC Supply Chain
Overview
You will own the operational engine of Golden Child, a Miami-based pet nutrition startup redefining dog food with chef-crafted, science-backed Mains and Drizzles. You will set the operating foundation for a brand built on human-grade standards and uncompromising quality.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and own the end-to-end supply chain, including sourcing, supplier negotiations, co-manufacturing, production planning, cold-chain logistics, and fulfillment for Mains and Drizzles.
- 2Drive gross margin improvement by identifying and executing cost levers across sourcing, packaging, manufacturing, freight, and waste, with a clear roadmap for unit economics.
- 3Scale manufacturing capacity by managing co-manufacturing partners and evaluating vertical integration, including dedicated capacity or in-house production.
- 4Translate demand forecasts into production and inventory plans that balance availability, freshness, and working capital, using AI-forward forecasting tools.
- 5Lead product commercialization from concept to launch, working with Culinary and R&D to ensure operational feasibility, costing, and scale-up readiness.
- 6Implement rigorous quality and food-safety systems across the supply chain, meeting regulatory and traceability standards as volumes grow.
- 7Design and deploy the operational technology stack for forecasting, purchasing, inventory, and real-time supply-chain visibility, automating workflows with AI.
- 8Negotiate vendor terms and build supplier redundancy to ensure resilience and quality at scale.
Requirements8
- 110+ years of progressively senior operations, supply chain, or manufacturing experience, with a focus on scaling high-growth consumer businesses.
- 2Deep experience in food, beverage, supplements, or another operationally complex CPG category, including supplier negotiations and sourcing.
- 3Strong command of COGS, gross margin, and unit economics, with a track record of materially improving them.
- 4Proven ability to build operational systems and processes during rapid growth.
- 5Experience evaluating or executing in-house manufacturing or vertical integration.
- 6Advanced analytical and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to move between strategy and hands-on execution.
- 7High standards for product quality and customer experience, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
