Overview
Own the enterprise cybersecurity strategy for a leading digital personal finance company, protecting customer trust across $40B in enrollments and $11B in loan originations. You will lead a risk-based security organization, partnering with executives, the Board, and regulators to enable secure innovation in a cloud-first, heavily regulated fintech. A key focus will be scaling the program to align with SEC, SOX, and PCI DSS 4.0 expectations while embedding security as a strategic business enabler. What You'll Do10
- 1Define and execute a multi-year cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives, translating cyber risk into measurable business impact.
- 2Serve as the primary security advisor to executive leadership and the Board, reporting on risk posture and board-level risk disclosures.
- 3Scale a metrics-driven security organization focused on enablement and automation, shifting from reactive compliance to proactive risk management.
- 4Direct enterprise security governance covering PCI DSS 4.0, SOC 1/2, GLBA, FFIEC guidance, and state privacy regulations.
- 5Oversee the Security Operations Center (SOC), incident response, threat detection, digital forensics, and vulnerability management.
- 6Drive cloud security posture across AWS, Azure, and GCP, embedding secure-by-design and DevSecOps principles in the SDLC.
- 7Lead identity and access management (IAM) strategy, Zero Trust architecture, and data protection programs for customer financial data.
- 8Champion secure, responsible AI adoption, establishing controls for data leakage, prompt injection, IP protection, and model bias.
- 9Partner with engineering to enable AI-driven security operations and predictive threat detection, enhancing operational efficiency.
- 10Build and mentor high-performing cybersecurity teams, championing a security-first culture across engineering and business teams.
Requirements10
- 112+ years of progressive cybersecurity leadership, including CISO or senior leadership experience.
- 2Proven track record in fintech, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
- 3Technical expertise in cloud security architecture, DevSecOps, IAM, and modern attack vectors.
- 4Extensive experience with compliance frameworks: PCI DSS 4.0, SOC 2, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, GLBA.
- 5Demonstrated experience securing AI/ML systems and understanding AI-driven cyber risks.
- 6Experience building a security posture that withstands external institutional audits and investment events.
- 7Strong executive presence with experience presenting to Boards of Directors and executive teams.
- 8Strategic thinker with operational execution skills, including managing cyber crisis events and incident response.
- 9Preferred: experience with regulated corporate governance, M&A security integration, and enterprise AI governance.
- 10Preferred: certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.
