Chief Financial Officer Healthcare Boston
Overview
As CFO of Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health Hospital, you will own all financial operations for a 71-bed facility in Boston, MA, including monthly reporting, revenue cycle, and budgeting. You will join a senior leadership team and report to the CEO, guiding financial strategy for a leading New England behavioral health provider. This role offers a competitive base salary of $145,000-$180,000, an annual bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) match and stock awards. You will drive clean audits, optimize cash collections, and support the hospital's mission of adult mental health care.
What You'll Do12
- 1Own monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- 2Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly, identifying and correcting variances.
- 3Prepare corporate reports, including monthly operating reports, certifications, disclosures, and forecasts.
- 4Implement accounting and business office policies to secure clean audits with no material adjustments.
- 5Direct revenue cycle operations, setting targets for cash collections, AR days, and reducing bad debt.
- 6Monitor revenue cycle metrics, proactively addressing issues affecting performance.
- 7Ensure insurance verification for 100% of patients and proper financial counseling.
- 8Maintain deep knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies.
- 9Oversee departments including Accounting, Patient Accounting, Health Information Management, and Materials Management.
- 10Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, analyzing variances and guiding budget changes.
- 11Track assets and depreciation, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- 12Supervise staff, ensuring adequate training and adherence to Group Purchasing contracts.
Requirements11
- 13+ years successful CFO experience in a healthcare setting.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business with an Accounting major.
- 3Prior behavioral healthcare experience highly preferred.
- 4Experience with a proprietary healthcare system highly preferred.
- 5CPA or Master's degree a plus.
- 6Proven financial analysis skills.
- 7Proficiency with Excel and Word and experience with information technology.
- 8Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent written and verbal communication.
- 9Strategic thinker with problem-solving skills.
- 10Ability to build effective relationships with staff, physicians, and corporate teams.
- 11High emotional intelligence and ethical conduct.
