Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, In-Home Care
Overview
You will deliver outpatient rehabilitation in patients' homes across Puyallup, WA, serving the older adult population. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will implement treatment plans that boost independence and daily function. Work with a supportive rehab team in a flexible, 13-week assignment with 40-hour weekly guarantee. This role puts therapy in the most functional environment: the patient's own residence.
What You'll Do8
- 1Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist, focusing on functional gains.
- 2Provide therapeutic interventions for cognitive skills, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, balance, and activities of daily living.
- 3Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on skills and techniques to support the therapy program and ensure continuity of care.
- 4Document all patient treatments accurately and promptly, meeting billing and compliance standards.
- 5Collaborate with the rehab team to adapt programs to each patient's needs and capabilities.
- 6Maintain equipment and report repair needs to ensure a safe treatment environment.
- 7Adhere to the patient schedule and participate in required meetings and conferences.
- 8Integrate safety and fall prevention strategies, including medication management and joint protection education.
Requirements7
- 1Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Washington, or proof of eligibility.
- 2Driver's license and reliable transportation for in-home visits.
- 3Experience with the older adult population in outpatient or home health settings.
- 41+ year of clinical experience in rehabilitation, preferred.
- 5Strong organizational and time management skills to manage a 40-hour week schedule.
- 6Clear verbal and written communication to coordinate with patients, families, and the rehab team.
- 7Compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
