Ceramic Tile Installer, Commercial Projects
Overview
You will install ceramic, porcelain, quarry, and natural stone tile on commercial projects across Texas, including hotels, retail, healthcare, education, and office buildings. You will work independently or with a crew, handling floor preparation, large-format tile, waterproofing systems, and mud beds. Our team has served Texas since the 1980s and offers year-round work with steady schedules. You will collaborate with superintendents and project managers to meet deadlines without compromising quality. What You'll Do9
- 1Install ceramic, porcelain, quarry, and natural stone tile on commercial projects.
- 2Read and interpret construction drawings and layouts to establish tile patterns and cuts.
- 3Prepare floors with grinding, patching, crack isolation, waterproofing, and self-leveling underlayments.
- 4Set large-format tile, mosaics, wall tile, shower systems, and specialty installations.
- 5Install mud beds, Schluter systems, waterproofing membranes, and expansion joints as required.
- 6Grout, caulk, and finish installations to commercial quality standards.
- 7Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the project.
- 8Communicate professionally with superintendents, project managers, and fellow installers.
- 9Meet project schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Requirements9
- 13+ years of commercial tile installation experience (preferred).
- 2Ability to install large-format porcelain tile accurately and efficiently.
- 3Experience with waterproofing systems such as RedGard, Mapelastic, Hydro Ban, or similar.
- 4Knowledge of ANSI and TCNA installation standards.
- 5Ability to read plans and establish layouts.
- 6Must have reliable transportation.
- 7Must have your own basic tile installation tools.
- 8Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
- 9Ability to pass jobsite safety requirements when applicable.
