Cellar Operator, Craft Beer & Brewing Operations
Overview
Cellar Operator at Barrel One Collective in Boston, MA will own fermentation management and quality control at scale within our brewery team. You’ll support brewhouse operations, filtration, and packaging in a fast-paced manufacturing environment alongside cross-functional teams. This role offers growth within a respected production brewery and exposure to high-quality craft beer at scale.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build brewhouse operations including milling, hop additions, and wort production to meet production targets
- 2Design CIP/CUP and sanitation plans for fermenters, brite tanks, and transfer lines to maintain cleanliness
- 3Lead yeast handling, pitching, cell counts, dry hopping, and gravity readings to ensure product consistency
- 4Operate filtration systems and support pilot brewing projects to optimize clarity and flavor
- 5Monitor turbidity, CO₂, and O₂ levels to meet product specifications
- 6Maintain accurate production documentation and logs for traceability
- 7Support packaging and cross-functional production teams to streamline workflows
- 8Maintain safe, clean, and organized workspaces to meet safety standards
- 9Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in fermentation and quality control
Requirements6
- 12+ years brewing or beverage manufacturing experience
- 2Strong knowledge of fermentation, sanitation, and filtration processes
- 3Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- 4Ability to work varied shifts in a production environment
- 5Forklift certification a plus
- 6Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Salary Insight
$42 - $54k per year
