Production Brewer, Craft Brewery Operations
Overview
You'll execute daily brewhouse and cellar operations on a 50 bbl system, producing dozens of recipes annually. You'll work with a collaborative team, owning quality and safety across every batch. This role offers hands-on experience with OrchestratedBEER and Google Docs. You'll drive continuous improvement in a high-growth contract brewery, where your adaptability and craftsmanship directly impact award-winning beers.
What You'll Do9
- 1Execute wort production, fermentation, filtration, and centrifugation, managing ingredients, yeast, and dry hops for every batch
- 2Own CIP duties and cellar transfers, ensuring clean and safe equipment for OrchestratedBEER-tracked batches
- 3Record batch data in Google Docs and OrchestratedBEER, maintaining precise quality logs
- 4Sample daily for quality checks, escalating any anomalies to the brewing team
- 5Maintain a safety-first workspace, organizing ingredients and restocking supplies
- 6Collaborate with the Brewing Team to meet production schedules, troubleshooting process upsets as they arise
- 7Operate forklift (certification provided) to move materials and finished goods
- 8Support continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements and documenting SOPs
- 9Communicate cross-functionally, participating in required meetings and fostering a culture of mutual respect
Requirements8
- 11+ years of production brewing experience, preferably in a regional brewery
- 2High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications from IBD, Siebels, or UC-Davis preferred
- 321+ years old
- 4Understand flow and volume control in closed-system food/beverage plants
- 5Proven ability to lift 60 lbs repeatedly and maneuver 165 lbs
- 6Comfortable working on feet for 10 hours in cold, wet, hot, or muggy conditions
- 7Strong troubleshooting and multitasking skills, with flexibility for shift changes
- 8Ability to work a 4x10 schedule, either Mon-Fri or Fri-Mon
