CDL Laborer, Underground Utilities Construction
Overview
You will join a crew that installs and maintains underground utilities in residential and commercial areas across Denver. You will own the physical execution of daily tasks, working with specialized equipment and supporting the crew leader. Your work keeps critical gas, electric, and telecom infrastructure safe and reliable. You will report to a crew leader and collaborate with equipment operators to complete projects on time. What You'll Do8
- 1Assist the crew leader in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance of underground utility lines.
- 2Operate jackhammers, rotary drills, and power actuated fasteners to break through obstacles and prepare sites.
- 3Signal equipment operators to align and move machinery, ensuring safe deployment of backhoes, excavators, and trenchers.
- 4Dig and locate underground obstructions manually, using hand tools to expose lines and conduits.
- 5Clean and prepare construction sites daily to eliminate hazards and maintain organization.
- 6Drive and maneuver commercial vehicles to transport crew, materials, and equipment to job sites.
- 7Support equipment operators by swamping, guiding, and handling rigging to maintain steady workflow.
- 8Follow safety protocols and federal regulations while working around heavy machinery and in confined spaces.
Requirements9
- 1CDL A license required for this position.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- 31+ years of experience in underground utility construction preferred.
- 4Ability to lift 80 lbs repeatedly during a work shift and perform heavy manual labor outdoors in all weather.
- 5Capability to climb, kneel, stoop, and work in tight spaces like trenches and manholes.
- 6Clear communication skills to follow oral and written instructions and report hazards.
- 7Pass criminal background check, MVR check, and pre-employment drug screen.
- 8Willingness to learn new skills and cross-train on heavy equipment.
- 9Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
