Overview
You will deliver and serve food at campus events, ensuring accurate execution from setup to breakdown. This role supports Chartwells Higher Ed at Oakland University, handling catering functions for students and faculty. You will work with the catering team to provide friendly service, maintain food quality, and uphold safety standards. What You'll Do10
- 1Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled event locations, confirming accuracy with the catering captain.
- 2Log and maintain food temperatures to meet safety standards during events.
- 3Arrange tables, decorations, and buffet lines with food, beverages, and service items.
- 4Serve food and beverages to guests courteously, following service standards.
- 5Clean event areas during and after functions, breaking down setups and leaving spaces neat.
- 6Return leftover food, equipment, and utensils to the catering facility promptly.
- 7Distribute and collect customer comment cards to gather feedback on events.
- 8Stock, clean, and maintain catering equipment and the facility, following sanitation policies.
- 9Drive a catering delivery truck when assigned, operating it safely and on schedule.
- 10Maintain knowledge of the menu and available products to answer guest questions.
Requirements8
- 1Prior food service experience is required; catering experience is highly preferred.
- 2Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days and hours that vary with event needs.
- 3Valid driver's license may be required for delivery tasks.
- 4Must be able to obtain a food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers' permit as required by state law.
- 5Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and move equipment.
- 6Comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment with attention to detail.
- 7Basic math skills for handling food quantities and temperatures.
- 8Reliable transportation to the campus location in Rochester, MI.
