Case Manager RN - Workers' Compensation & ADA
Overview
Case Manager RN owns medical case management for injured workers across all US Grifols sites, coordinating care to speed recovery and return to work. You connect with adjusters, providers, and plant managers to align treatment with job demands and legal standards. The role rotates on-call and handles ADA interactive processes. You will work onsite in Raleigh, NC with occasional travel to plasma centers. This position stands out by blending clinical judgment with OSHA compliance and ADA expertise.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assess and coordinate medical care for workers' compensation injuries, managing all accepted routine lost time claims.
- 2Collaborate with adjusters, medical providers, and management to ensure appropriate care and rehabilitation for injured workers.
- 3Determine fitness for duty and evaluate return-to-work concerns from physical capability and biological risk perspectives.
- 4Develop case management plans through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient progress.
- 5Create and maintain medical records including Employee Medical Files, Workers' Compensation forms, and return-to-work notes.
- 6Conduct medical accommodation determinations under the ADA, coordinating the interactive process with management and HR.
- 7Provide telephonic triage of injury events to determine level of care needed.
- 8Perform nursing care for occupational and non-occupational injuries, including first aid, emergency transport, and referrals.
- 9Serve as rotating on-call staff for all Grifols US operations and respond to on-site emergencies.
- 10Build strong relationships with staff nurses to integrate delivery of medical services.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelors or Associate Degree from a registered nursing program.
- 2State license to practice nursing in North Carolina or California (dependent on location).
- 31+ years (Bachelors) or 3+ years (Associates) of related experience in worker's compensation case management, occupational health nursing, medical assessment, or emergency care.
- 4Extensive knowledge of the ADA and interactive process procedures.
- 5Certification via the American Board of Occupational Health Nursing (COHN-S or COHN) is preferred.
- 6Certification in case management or related specialty is preferred.
- 7Training in CPR, emergency first aid, immunology, ergonomics, and experience with OSHA requirements.
- 8Ability to sit for 6-8 hours per day, lift up to 30 lbs, and drive to site locations with occasional travel.
- 9Strong communication skills to relate sensitive information to diverse groups.
