Caregiver Night Shift Assisted Living Memory Care
Overview
You'll provide person-centered care for residents in assisted living and memory care during the 11p-7a shift at The Haven at North Hills in Pittsburgh, PA. You'll report to the Health Services Coordinator or Health Services Director, working with a team to ensure safety, dignity, and comfort. This role demands CPR certification, first aid readiness, and dementia care techniques. You'll build meaningful connections, respond to emergencies, and document incidents. Shift work offers quieter nights with focused resident support.
What You'll Do9
- 1Monitor resident health, safety, and well-being during 11p-7a; report changes in condition to the Health Services Director or coordinator.
- 2Follow shift-change procedures and document care per protocol.
- 3Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting.
- 4Support residents with memory loss using validation, redirection, and engagement strategies.
- 5Keep the environment safe and happy; encourage resident participation in activities.
- 6Respond to resident emergencies immediately; provide first aid assistance and debrief after incidents.
- 7Maintain CPR and first aid certifications as required by state regulations.
- 8Communicate with residents' families as directed to support care coordination.
- 9Carry out other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2Six months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination.
- 3Current CPR and first aid certification.
- 4Valid certification as required by state.
- 5Pass criminal record clearance, health screening, and TB clearance.
- 6Demonstrated ability to communicate politely and effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
- 7Ability to work in a team and maintain a positive, respectful approach.
- 8Previous experience in senior living preferred.
- 9Willingness to train in dementia care practices (validation, redirection, engagement).
