Camera Operator, Live Broadcast Racing
Overview
As a Camera Operator at International Sound Corporation, you will film live races at a Thoroughbred Racetrack in Wilmington, Delaware. You will operate a professional Broadcast Camera, climb a patrol tower, and use a joystick controller for robotic operations. Training is provided for this entry-level role, and you will work part-time, Wednesday to Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This seasonal position runs through October 17th and offers a starting wage of $15.00 per hour.
What You'll Do10
- 1Operate a Broadcast Camera to capture live horse racing events for a television broadcast.
- 2Climb and descend a patrol tower during the shift to maintain optimal camera angles.
- 3Control a robotic camera using a joystick controller on designated racing days.
- 4Coordinate with the production team to ensure seamless coverage of races.
- 5Maintain camera equipment and report any technical issues promptly.
- 6Obtain and maintain an Occupational License from the Delaware Racing Commission.
- 7Follow broadcast schedules and adapt to changing race conditions in real-time.
- 8Deliver high-quality footage that meets broadcast standards for every race.
- 9Collaborate with other camera operators and direction staff to capture key moments.
- 10Ensure reliable attendance for all scheduled racing performances from now through October 17th.
Requirements10
- 11+ year of camera operator experience (preferred).
- 2Ability to work part-time, Wednesday through Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- 3Comfortable working at heights and climbing a patrol tower.
- 4Reliable transportation and availability for all racing days.
- 5Willingness to obtain an Occupational License with the Delaware Racing Commission.
- 6Ability to operate a Broadcast Camera and learn robotic camera controls.
- 7Must be local to the Philadelphia or Wilmington area.
- 8Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- 9Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- 10Pass a background check as required by the racing commission.
