CAD Technician at Agility Technical Solutions
Overview
We seek an experienced CAD Technician to support design documentation reverse engineering and modernization of mechanical and electronic systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong practical CAD skills and meticulous attention to detail. They will independently generate accurate manufacturing-ready models and drawings with limited oversight. This hands-on role involves collaborating within a small high-performing team focused on new product development reverse engineering manufacturing support and legacy system upgrades.
What You'll Do11
- 1Create and modify detailed 3D CAD models assemblies and manufacturing drawings
- 2Develop accurate CAD models from hardware measurements photographs and engineering information
- 3Perform reverse engineering of mechanical components using measurements and dimensional analysis
- 4Produce comprehensive manufacturing drawings fabrication drawings and assembly documentation
- 5Support engineers in designing mechanical components enclosures brackets and fixtures
- 6Integrate engineering changes into existing models and drawings
- 7Maintain drawing revisions part numbering and configuration-controlled documentation
- 8Apply proper dimensions tolerances GD&T notes finishes and materials to engineering drawings
- 9Develop BOMs and assembly documentation for production
- 10Collaborate across disciplines to resolve drawing fit form and assembly issues
- 11Review CAD models for accuracy completeness and manufacturability
Requirements11
- 1Strong CAD skills with independent work capability
- 2Minimum 5 years professional CAD drafting experience
- 3Expertise in reverse engineering or model creation from existing hardware
- 4Proficiency in creating manufacturing drawings for various component types
- 5Deep understanding of GD&T and mechanical drawing standards
- 6Familiarity with design for manufacturing and assembly principles
- 7Experience with DFMA and assembly documentation practices
- 8Ability to work with military aerospace or high-reliability hardware
- 9Experience in high-mix low-volume manufacturing environments
- 10Knowledge of electrical/electronic assemblies and PCB layouts
- 11Proficiency with configuration controlled documentation systems
