
Business Systems Analyst, Fraud Operations & Credit Card Systems
Overview
This role owns the bridge between fraud operations, credit card systems, and engineering teams at a retail bank. You will drive requirements for fraud detection and prevention platforms, translating business needs into technical solutions. You collaborate with SQL, JIRA, and Confluence daily, working alongside data scientists and software developers. Unlike typical analyst roles, you own end-to-end delivery of fraud-related initiatives, from discovery to rollout. This contract position in Dallas offers direct impact on reducing fraud losses.
What You'll Do8
- 1Drive requirements gathering for fraud detection systems, using SQL to analyze transaction data and identify gaps.
- 2Translate business needs into functional specs for engineering, ensuring alignment with fraud operations teams.
- 3Lead stakeholder sessions with fraud ops, risk, and compliance to prioritize features for Credit Card platforms.
- 4Own the backlog for fraud tooling, writing user stories in JIRA and tracking sprint progress.
- 5Coordinate with QA to validate test cases against production fraud scenarios.
- 6Implement process changes to reduce fraud false positives, measuring impact on operational metrics.
- 7Deliver training to ops teams on new fraud tools, using Confluence for documentation.
- 8Facilitate UAT with business users, capturing feedback and refining requirements.
Requirements8
- 15+ years as a business analyst or technical program manager in Fraud Operations or Retail Banking.
- 23+ years working on Credit Card systems and fraud detection tools.
- 33+ years writing SQL queries to extract and analyze transaction data.
- 42+ years using JIRA and Confluence for requirements and tracking.
- 5Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 6Experience with fraud platforms such as Falcon or Actimize is preferred.
- 7Excellent communication skills to bridge business and technical teams.
- 8Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced banking environment.
