Business Development Specialist, Adolescent Mental Health
Overview
Own referral development and community outreach for a new Adolescent Program in Wayne, PA, serving teens and young adults across the greater Philadelphia region. Build a ground-floor presence from scratch, shaping how schools, healthcare systems, and youth organizations engage with our services. Work directly with the VP of Business Development and a mission-driven team dedicated to transforming adolescent lives. What You'll Do10
- 1Build referral partnerships with school counselors, social workers, and administrators across public, private, and charter schools in four counties.
- 2Deliver lunch-and-learns and educational presentations to school staff on adolescent mental health, substance use, and early intervention.
- 3Negotiate formal referral agreements with school districts and Student Assistance Programs (SAPs).
- 4Exhibit at district mental health fairs, parent nights, and community events to raise program visibility.
- 5Cultivate referral sources among pediatricians, adolescent medicine specialists, child/adolescent psychiatrists, therapists, and primary care providers.
- 6Partner with hospital emergency departments, inpatient psychiatric units, and crisis stabilization centers serving adolescents.
- 7Engage with juvenile justice partners, including probation officers and family court liaisons, to connect youth to services.
- 8Build ties with youth-serving nonprofits, community centers, and faith-based groups to extend outreach reach.
- 9Collaborate with DHS/CYS, foster care agencies, and family service organizations to support at-risk adolescents.
- 10Track outreach metrics, referral sources, and census impact using CRM tools, reporting progress to leadership.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, social work, psychology, public health, or a related field.
- 22–3 years of experience in business development, community outreach, or marketing within behavioral health, healthcare, or human services.
- 3Demonstrated knowledge of the adolescent mental health and/or substance use landscape.
- 4Strong public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- 5Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a wide geographic territory.
- 6Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel throughout the region regularly.
- 7Preferred: experience working directly with adolescents in a school, clinical, or community-based setting.
- 8Preferred: existing referral network in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties.
