Business Analyst, Varicent & Alteryx
Overview
Own the day-to-day operations of commission and incentive data flows for a Fortune 500 sales organization. You will work side-by-side with business users in Plano, TX, transforming raw data into actionable insights using Alteryx Designer and validating outputs within Varicent. This contract role demands a hands-on operator who can debug pipeline issues, automate repetitive tasks, and ensure data integrity across the enterprise ecosystem.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and maintain Alteryx workflows that transform and validate commission data from multiple sources.
- 2Debug and resolve data discrepancies within Varicent or alternative incentive systems, coordinating with IT and business teams.
- 3Design and document data quality checks to catch errors before they impact downstream reporting.
- 4Automate recurring data extraction and transformation processes using Alteryx and SQL.
- 5Partner with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specs for data pipeline changes.
- 6Own end-to-end execution of monthly commission cycles, confirming data accuracy and timely delivery.
- 7Create and maintain dashboards in Tableau or Power BI to visualize commission performance and trends.
- 8Support ad-hoc data requests from finance, sales ops, and leadership, delivering insights within 24 hours.
- 9Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
Requirements10
- 13+ years in system operations, data processing, or business support roles.
- 2Hands-on experience with Varicent or equivalent incentive compensation software.
- 3Proficiency in Alteryx Designer for data blending and workflow automation.
- 4Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- 5Ability to work on-site in Plano, Texas, collaborating closely with business users.
- 6Experience with Tableau or Power BI for data visualization.
- 7Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- 8Familiarity with enterprise data pipelines and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS).
- 9Excellent communication skills to bridge business and technical teams.
