Overview

The Bus Driver will transport residents to local destinations for the Largo Landing community at Upper Marlboro MD, supporting safe and courteous service on a community bus. You will work with a small team to maintain smooth operations, adhere to traffic laws, and support residents with mobility needs.

What You'll Do12

  • 1Greet residents and visitors and create a welcoming environment
  • 2Sign out and prep the bus, ensuring operational condition before routes
  • 3Transport passengers along pre-determined routes following traffic laws
  • 4Assist residents with entering and exiting the bus and with groceries or bags
  • 5Drop off and pick up within safe, practical stops and destinations
  • 6Enforce a no-smoking policy on the bus
  • 7Return the bus, keys, and time sheet at shift end
  • 8Report unusual situations to management and document as required
  • 9Respond to emergencies per community procedures and log events
  • 10Adhere to special driving requirements from authorities for specific destinations
  • 11Maintain passenger counts and keep bus logbooks current
  • 12Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements5

  • 1High School Diploma or GED
  • 2Valid State commercial driver’s license and approval by SLN insurance carrier
  • 3Effective written and oral communication
  • 4Patient, helpful, and courteous demeanor suitable for elderly and disabled residents
  • 5Physical ability to type, walk, bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, stand for periods, and lift up to 50 lbs
