Overview
Drive conventional and lift gate school buses to safely transport students and deliver materials. Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and accurate route reporting. Lead route modifications and conduct emergency evacuation drills. Maintain compliance with safety regulations and district policies.
What You'll Do17
- 1Drive conventional and lift gate school buses to transport students to and from school and educational field trips
- 2Ensure disabled and preschool children wear appropriate seat and safety belts
- 3Conduct daily inspections and perform preventive maintenance activities on assigned vehicles
- 4Maintain daily automotive vehicle reports showing destination and arrival/departure times
- 5Report all accidents and vehicular defects immediately
- 6Recommend changes to preplanned routes due to detours or unusual traffic conditions
- 7Drive vehicles to and from repair shops and deliver supplies transit tickets and mail
- 8Inspect buses and other transportation vehicles to verify preventive maintenance and service checks
- 9Issue changes in vehicular and bus routes as directed by the supervisor
- 10Review completed daily work sheets for accuracy neatness and correct pupil information
- 11Provide site observations for contractual and city bus drivers
- 12Monitor bus routes to ensure safe timely and dependable delivery of service
- 13Conduct emergency school bus evacuation drills at various schools
- 14Review and correct descriptions of bus routes
- 15Audit bus routes to ensure appropriateness of contractor payment requests
- 16Monitor school bus drivers activities to ensure valid driver licenses driving records and training certificates
- 17Perform and promote activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies
Requirements6
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Maryland Class A or B Commercial driver`s license with passenger and school bus endorsements and no moving violations
- 3Knowledge of Maryland vehicle operation codes standards and laws
- 4Ability to determine automotive malfunctions and perform routine preventive maintenance
- 5Effective verbal and written communication skills
- 6Full time position available
