Overview
You will design bridges and waterfront infrastructure for public and private clients across the West Coast. Working in a 27-office structural team of over 1,400 professionals, you will own structural design from planning through construction. You will collaborate directly with Principals and interns in a flat team structure, with opportunities to teach and learn through social and technical programs. SAP2000, CSI Bridge, and AASHTO are your primary tools. Your growth is determined by your projects and contributions, not tenure. What You'll Do8
- 1Design bridge and waterfront structures using SAP2000, CSI Bridge, and L-Pile for West Coast projects.
- 2Perform seismic analysis with nonlinear pushover methods and soil-structure interaction per ASCE 61-14.
- 3Prepare structural drawings and specifications for transportation infrastructure, ports, and marine facilities.
- 4Review redlines and modify design documents accurately within project deadlines.
- 5Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on bridge, railway, and water treatment projects from concept to construction.
- 6Lead structural calculations for concrete, steel, and timber elements following AASHTO and ACI codes.
- 7Coordinate with clients and project managers to align design deliverables with permitting and construction schedules.
- 8Mentor junior engineers and interns through design reviews and technical training sessions.
Requirements8
- 14-6 years of structural design experience with a PE in California or ability to obtain reciprocity.
- 2B.S. in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis; M.S. preferred.
- 3EIT certification required.
- 4Bridge design experience with concrete, steel, and timber.
- 5Coursework or design experience in pre-stressed concrete and seismic design.
- 6Knowledge of AASHTO, ASCE 7, ASCE 61-14, IBC, AISC, ACI, and NDS.
- 7Proficiency in SAP2000, L-Pile, CSI Bridge, MS Excel, and VBA preferred.
- 8Ability to prepare structural documents and specifications, and to read redlines.
