BPE Sr. Process Design Specialist, Lean Six Sigma
Overview
You will own enterprise-wide process improvement for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, driving cost reduction and operational effectiveness across 3.5 million members. You will lead complex projects using Lean, DMAIC, and Design for Six Sigma methodologies, partnering with stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions. Your team includes Business Process Analysts and cross-functional BPI professionals, and you will mentor candidates pursuing Lean and Green Belt certifications. What You'll Do9
- 1Drive cost reduction initiatives by executing Lean and DMAIC projects from scoping to implementation, delivering measurable financial benefits in the first 90 days.
- 2Lead value stream mapping and statistical analysis using Minitab to identify process inefficiencies and design future-state workflows.
- 3Develop business cases and ROI models in partnership with Finance to quantify project value and secure stakeholder buy-in.
- 4Coach and mentor Green Belt candidates, preparing them for certification and embedding continuous improvement practices across divisions.
- 5Assess change readiness and create transition plans, acting as a change agent to sustain improvements and build stakeholder resilience.
- 6Communicate project results to division leadership, influencing decisions with data-driven insights and clear presentations.
- 7Identify and manage project risks and issues, using Six Sigma tools to keep initiatives on track and achieve annual targets.
- 8Collaborate with BPI professionals to share best practices and deploy common solutions across the enterprise.
- 9Use MS Visio and PowerPoint to document process maps and prepare leadership presentations for executive review.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of business process improvement or process redesign experience, with a proven record of leading complex projects.
- 2Qualified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from an industry recognized institution (e.g., ASQ), plus commitment to achieve Horizon Black Belt within two years.
- 3Strong knowledge of Lean, DMAIC, and Design for Six Sigma tools, applied to real-world problem solving.
- 4Hands-on experience with Minitab or other statistical software for data analysis.
- 5Proficiency in MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- 6Healthcare industry experience preferred, with a multi-divisional corporate environment desired.
- 7Proven ability to lead teams without direct authority, influencing cross-functional partners to achieve results.
- 8Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation and facilitation capabilities.
- 9Demonstrated skill in gathering, synthesizing, and analyzing data, drawing logical conclusions to drive decisions.
- 10Strong project management experience, well organized and results-driven, with occasional travel to alternate Horizon sites.
