Boiler Draft System Technician, HVAC & Controls
Overview
Own and support boiler exhaust and mechanical draft systems for commercial applications at scale. You will troubleshoot, commission, and service boiler rooms and control panels with cross functional teams in a hands on role. Work with engineering, services, and customers to verify product performance and drive field improvements. This role offers field exposure and opportunities to influence new product development.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and troubleshoot boiler exhaust, mechanical draft, and control system configurations across customer sites
- 2Diagnose VFD, pressure control, wiring, and sensor issues to identify corrective actions within 90 days
- 3Assist with commissioning, startup, maintenance, and on site training for mechanical draft and exhaust systems
- 4Prepare technical reports, commissioning summaries, wiring diagrams, and field documentation for warranty and customer records
- 5Escalate complex issues to Engineering with actionable next steps and documented observations
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent required
- 23-5 years hands on experience with commercial boilers, HVAC equipment, combustion systems, mechanical draft systems, controls, or related field
- 3Travel up to 50 percent for field support, commissioning, and customer visits
- 4Valid driver’s license and valid U.S. passport or ability to obtain one
- 5Technical or associate degree in HVAC, boiler technology, or related field preferred
- 6Experience reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and control panel layouts
- 7Experience with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and manometers
- 8Strong knowledge of boiler operation, burner sequences, and safety interlocks
- 9Experience with low voltage and line voltage control circuits and fire control logic
- 10Knowledge of PLCs, Modbus, BACnet, or Building Automation Systems is a plus
