Overview

You own medical equipment management across clinical and research areas at Mass General Brigham. You install, calibrate, repair, and inspect devices to ensure safety and function. Working with a team of technicians, you respond to equipment problems and conduct preventive maintenance. What You'll Do8

  • 1Inspect newly acquired medical devices for safety and function, assign control numbers and labels.
  • 2Conduct performance assurance and electrical safety testing on medical equipment.
  • 3Respond to equipment problems in clinical or research areas, troubleshooting and solving issues.
  • 4Perform equipment repairs to board or component level using diagnostic software.
  • 5Participate in equipment evaluations, installations, and upgrades including software revisions.
  • 6Make periodic rounds of assigned clinical areas to assess device operation.
  • 7Instruct technical staff on testing, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • 8Document all inspections, repairs, maintenance procedures, and teaching activities.

Requirements7

  • 1Associate's degree in Biomedical Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 21-2 years experience as a biomedical technician.
  • 3Valid driver's license (Class D or New Hampshire) preferred.
  • 4Knowledge of electrical and mechanical biomedical safety principles.
  • 5Ability to use diagnostic software and test equipment for troubleshooting.
  • 6Ability to learn maintenance procedures from training materials and courses.
  • 7Proficient with computer-based tools.
