Overview
Phlebotomist will perform blood draws and specimen prep at our Port Chester, NY site with direct patient interaction. You will work with a diverse patient base, ensuring comfort and accurate sample collection. This role partners with clinical teams and requires precise labeling, handling, and documentation. What You'll Do10
- 1Build, label, and centrifuge specimens to support diagnostic workflows
- 2Explain venipuncture processes to patients to reduce anxiety and increase cooperation
- 3Match requisition forms to tubes and ensure accurate labeling and processing
- 4Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures to preserve integrity
- 5Maintain accurate records, track specimen status, and verify test requisitions against labels
- 6Perform infant and pediatric blood draws with appropriate technique
- 7Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and wear protective equipment as required
- 8Attend annual department trainings and contribute to process improvements
- 9Answer laboratory inquiries and provide timely results to clinicians
- 10Adhere to specimen handling protocols from collection to storage to ensure quality

- 12-3 years of experience in drawing blood
- 2Spanish-speaking proficiency
- 3Proficiency in phlebotomy and blood draw techniques
- 4Ability to use straight needles and perform infant draws
