What You'll Do9

  • 1Build and maintain manual and electronic case files for attorneys using Clio and Microsoft Office.
  • 2Draft motions, memorandums of law, and other pleadings for filing in State and Federal courts.
  • 3Prepare discovery documents and exhibits for trial, organizing evidence and witness lists.
  • 4Coordinate with clients and attorneys to compile immigration petitions for agencies like USCIS and immigration courts.
  • 5Track case statuses across courts and agencies, updating calendars and alerting attorneys of deadlines.
  • 6Conduct legal research on Westlaw to support case strategy and write memos.
  • 7Communicate with opposing counsel and court clerks to schedule hearings and depositions.
  • 8Manage document production and e-filing through PACER and state court systems.
  • 9Assist attorneys during client meetings and depositions, taking notes and preparing summaries.

Requirements8

  • 10-2 years of paralegal experience in a law office, but strong organizational skills are essential.
  • 2Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • 3Bachelor's degree in Arts or Social Sciences.
  • 4Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software like Clio or MyCase.
  • 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and court interactions.
  • 6Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize deadlines.
  • 7Proven research skills using Westlaw or LexisNexis for legal citations.
  • 8Authorized to work in the U.S. and ability to commute to Brooklyn Center, MN.
