Behavior Technician, Special Education Support at LEARN Academy
Overview
Behavior Technician join LEARN Academy to support the delivery of comprehensive special education services for children with diverse learning needs. You will work under a special education teacher to implement instructional strategies that build academic, social, and functional skills. This role involves collaboration with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to ensure cohesive student care across multiple school settings. You will assist in implementing IEPs and track progress toward educational goals to drive positive outcomes.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build instructional programs and lessons for individual students or small groups under the supervision of a teacher
- 2Support students in activities initiated by the teacher and reinforce concepts across learning environments
- 3Implement accommodations indicated by the IEP such as reading tests aloud or note taking
- 4Facilitate social integration by redirecting behavior and implementing behavior management plans
- 5Assist students with daily living skills including eating, toileting, grooming, and dressing
- 6Provide mobility support as directed by therapists or related service providers
- 7Serve as a communication link by sharing information about student participation and behavior with teachers and staff
- 8Maintain accurate progress records and assist with clerical tasks as needed
- 9Participate in team meetings and professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
- 10Supervise students during non classroom activities such as lunch, recess, field trips, or assemblies

- 1High School Diploma - required
- 21-2 years of experience working with children in a related position
- 3Ability to lift more than 20 lbs
- 4Current AZ IVP Fingerprint card
- 5Eligible to work in the United States
