Before and Aftercare Teacher, Part-Time Split Shift
Overview
Own the before and after school program at Tender Years Preschool, serving 20+ children during split shifts from 6:30am to 9am and 3:30pm to 6pm. Coordinate safe walks to nearby elementary school, serve breakfast and snack, and guide homework completion. Report to the Center Director and collaborate with a close-knit team of early childhood educators. This role demands reliability and patience, with immediate start for the right candidate.
What You'll Do8
- 1Walk children to and from nearby elementary school, ensuring safety and punctuality
- 2Serve breakfast and afternoon snack following state health guidelines
- 3Assist children with homework and reading, using positive reinforcement
- 4Lead indoor and outdoor activities that promote social and motor skills
- 5Maintain a clean and organized classroom, sanitizing surfaces and toys
- 6Communicate daily with parents and staff about child progress and incidents
- 7Implement behavior management strategies aligned with center policies
- 8Supervise children during free play, transitions, and bathroom breaks
Requirements7
- 118+ years old with a GED or HS Diploma
- 26+ months experience in childcare or after-school programs
- 3Pass a criminal background check and physical exam
- 4Reliable transportation to Darby, PA 19023
- 5CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
- 6Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for 3 hours
- 7Flexible to work split shifts Monday to Friday
