BAS Field Service Manager, Building Automation & HVAC Controls
Overview
Lead BAS service operations across the Denver metro area and Colorado Front Range, owning field service delivery and customer satisfaction at scale. Drive troubleshooting, commissioning, and field support while mentoring technicians and improving service processes. Serve as a technical escalation resource for complex controls issues and help scale a growing BAS service team. This role blends hands-on leadership with customer coordination and continuous improvement to raise service quality and field execution.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead BAS service, troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and field execution activities across the Denver metro area.
- 2Serve as a technical escalation resource for complex BAS, DDC, HVAC controls, networking, and integration issues.
- 3Support technician scheduling, field prioritization, and day-to-day service coordination.
- 4Mentor and develop BAS technicians in troubleshooting, programming, controls hardware, and customer communication.
- 5Review drawings, sequences, and project documentation to ensure accurate field execution.
- 6Maintain strong documentation, service records, and customer communication.
- 7Promote safe work practices and support consistent service standards.
- 8Help improve BAS workflows, service delivery, and team scalability as the business grows.
Requirements10
- 17+ years of hands-on BAS, DDC, HVAC controls, commissioning, or field troubleshooting experience
- 22+ years of experience leading, mentoring, supervising, or coordinating technicians, installers, subcontractors, or field teams
- 3Strong technical knowledge of BAS/DDC control systems, HVAC equipment operation, control sequences, integration, programming, and field service practices
- 4Experience with BAS system startup, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service support
- 5Ability to diagnose controller-level, network-level, communication, graphics, alarm, wiring, sensor, actuator, and programming issues
- 6Working knowledge of communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LON
- 7Ability to read and interpret control diagrams, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, engineering specifications, and sequences of operation
- 8Experience supporting commercial HVAC systems and understanding how mechanical equipment interacts with BAS controls
- 9Ability to train and mentor technicians in both technical skills and professional field service expectations
- 10Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
