Bankruptcy Processor, Chapter 13 & PPFN Management
Overview
You will own the end-to-end processing of Post-Petition Fee Notices (PPFN) for a multi-state law firm, managing 50+ active bankruptcy cases at a time. You will track case progress in Chapter 13 proceedings, update client and firm systems, and clear impediments to keep filings on schedule. Working remotely with a dedicated equipment station, you will collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to ensure compliance. This role stands out for its focus on bankruptcy workflow automation and its direct impact on client satisfaction.
What You'll Do10
- 1Review bankruptcy files to determine if a PPFN is required, flagging cases that need immediate attorney attention.
- 2Gather and organize documentation for each PPFN, preparing drafts for attorney review within 48 hours of case filing.
- 3File approved PPFNs in state and federal courts, then update LMS and client portals to reflect filing status.
- 4Monitor the impediment inventory, escalating unresolved issues to senior staff and driving them to closure.
- 5Update client systems with case actions and notes, following client guidelines to ensure accuracy.
- 6Run daily system reports to track case progression, identifying delays and correcting errors in CMS.
- 7Verify billing entries in Juris for each closed file, ensuring compliance with firm procedures before final close.
- 8Maintain detailed case records in SharePoint, documenting every action for audit readiness.
- 9Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to resolve client-specific issues, providing status updates in Teams.
- 10Support special projects to improve bankruptcy processing workflows, reducing manual effort.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
- 22+ years experience in legal, mortgage servicing, or financial services environment.
- 3Working knowledge of Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings and PPFN requirements.
- 4Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn case management software.
- 5Strong numerical aptitude and basic accounting skills for reconciling fee notices.
- 6Excellent attention to detail, with ability to spot discrepancies in legal documents.
- 7Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- 8Effective written and verbal communication for client and team coordination.
- 9Ability to work independently in a remote environment and maintain confidentiality.
- 10Proactive problem-solving skills to resolve impediments and escalate issues timely.
