Overview
Own the legal calendar for a team of attorneys in Philadelphia handling trust, estate, and bankruptcy matters. You'll manage hearings, deadlines, and e-filings across PACER and other court systems. Work onsite in a long-term contract role, collaborating with attorneys and clients to keep case work moving. This role stands out for its focus on both estate administration and bankruptcy filings, giving you broad exposure to two busy practice areas.
What You'll Do7
- 1Manage attorney calendars by organizing hearings, deadlines, client meetings, and critical case appointments.
- 2Coordinate scheduling with courts, clients, counsel, and internal team members to keep legal matters on track.
- 3Prepare, submit, and track electronic filings for bankruptcy and other court documents, ensuring compliance with procedural rules.
- 4Support trust and estate matters, including document handling, file organization, and estate administration tasks.
- 5Assist with bankruptcy case documentation, verifying completeness, timeliness, and proper maintenance.
- 6Maintain accurate legal records and monitor important dates to meet court and matter deadlines.
- 7Communicate with attorneys and external parties about scheduling updates, filing needs, and case status.
Requirements7
- 1Prior experience as a Legal Assistant in a law firm or legal department.
- 2Hands-on knowledge of trust and estate matters, including estate planning or estate administration support.
- 3Experience supporting bankruptcy matters and preparing bankruptcy-related filings.
- 4Proficiency with e-filing systems and court filing procedures.
- 5Strong calendar management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- 6Familiarity with civil litigation support and legal document handling.
- 7Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication abilities.
