Backroom Coordinator, Retail Operations & Inventory Management
Overview
You will run backroom operations at a high-volume Marshalls store, orchestrating truck deliveries and processing merchandise onto the sales floor. You own the receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring every item is tagged, hung, and coded correctly. Your team of Associates looks to you for training, coaching, and daily priorities. This role is the backbone of the store's inventory flow, directly impacting sales and customer experience. You will work with store leadership to hit shrink reduction goals and keep the backroom safe, clean, and organized. 1 year retail and 6 months leadership experience prepares you to step in and make an immediate impact.
What You'll Do9
- 1Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing processing of merchandise onto the sales floor with RF scanning and backstock systems.
- 2Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles, including proper tagging, hanging, and security coding.
- 3Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor, adjusting to real-time sales data.
- 4Monitor team productivity and coach as needed, setting clear goals and providing progress updates to management.
- 5Maintain backroom organization and rotation of back stock for easy replenishment, using shelving systems and labeling standards.
- 6Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards, ensuring all displays match planograms and brand guidelines.
- 7Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, following EPA regulations and store procedures.
- 8Support store shrink reduction goals by monitoring exception reports and participating in cycle counts.
- 9Promote credit and loyalty programs at the customer service desk, engaging customers and modeling service excellence.
Requirements9
- 11 year retail experience and 6 months leadership experience in a store environment.
- 2Able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- 3Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- 4Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction.
- 5Team player working effectively with peers and supervisors.
- 6Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
- 7Able to train others on receiving procedures, merchandising standards, and safety protocols.
- 8High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 9Knowledge of inventory management systems and RF scanning is a plus.
