Overview
Own production database operations across Azure and Oracle environments at Synersys Technologies, managing 12+ years of enterprise-scale data systems. You will join a hybrid team in Dallas, Texas, supporting mission-critical workloads for a diverse client base. Your role centers on ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity for NoSQL platforms like Cassandra, MongoDB, and CosmosDB, alongside relational engines. What You'll Do8
- 1Own 24/7 production support for Azure and Oracle database clusters, ensuring uptime and performance targets are met.
- 2Tune and optimize Cassandra, MongoDB, and CosmosDB instances to handle high-volume transactional loads.
- 3Diagnose and resolve critical incidents across SQL Server, Oracle, and IBM DB2 environments within SLA.
- 4Implement automated monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- 5Drive capacity planning and scaling strategies for NoSQL and relational databases to support growth.
- 6Collaborate with development teams to design and deploy schema changes and indexes for peak efficiency.
- 7Document runbooks and standard operating procedures for recurring maintenance and security patching.
- 8Lead root cause analysis for database failures and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements8
- 16+ years of hands-on DBA experience with production support in Azure and Oracle environments.
- 2Expert level (12+ years) in at least one primary skill: Netezza, IIAS, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
- 3Proven expertise in NoSQL databases including Cassandra, MongoDB, and CosmosDB.
- 4Strong knowledge of relational databases: SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2, DB2 UDB, and PostgreSQL.
- 5Experience with Mainframe DB2 and Informix is a plus.
- 6Deep understanding of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability patterns.
- 7Ability to work on-site in Dallas, Texas, with hybrid flexibility.
- 8US experience required with excellent communication and documentation skills.
