What You'll Do8

  • 1Perform advanced mechanical repairs, including engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
  • 2Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, and complete 4-wheel alignments.
  • 3Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
  • 4Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication.
  • 5Review and close repair orders accurately, including labor, parts, and billing documentation.
  • 6Manage parts inventory, receive shipments, and maintain proper stocking levels.
  • 7Follow CarMax Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean work area.
  • 8Service heating and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements6

  • 1ASE Certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7), Electrical (A6), Engine Repair (A1), Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3), Engine Performance (A8), and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2) where required by State/Local law.
  • 2Completion of New Associate Orientation Training – Operations and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
  • 3Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
  • 4Capable of performing multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
  • 5Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • 6Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, including active listening and professional phone etiquette.
