Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist | $40-$100/hr Remote
Overview
Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist on a remote, contractor basis. You’ll apply deep parametric CAD know‑how to a high‑impact customer project that informs AI training with precise, real‑world model data. Expect to work primarily with 3D CAD, emphasis on robust sketches, assemblies, and manufacturability considerations across multiple processes. The role values domain expertise and clear technical communication over AI background.
What You'll Do5
- 1Create fully parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies from detailed briefs, focusing on strong sketching, constraints, and feature trees.
- 2Update and refine existing CAD models to reflect new requirements while maintaining manufacturability and compliance.
- 3Review models for dimensional accuracy and alignment with design intent, identifying gaps or deviations.
- 4Provide high‑quality CAD data and documented design decisions to support AI model training.
- 5Apply knowledge of manufacturing methods such as injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, and casting to optimize designs for production needs.
Requirements5
- 1Extensive hands‑on experience with parametric CAD tools, preferably FreeCAD, with strong capability in Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
- 2GD&T proficiency at ASME Y14.5 or equivalent, demonstrated in real projects.
- 3DFM expertise across multiple processes relevant to the project, along with a track record in assembly modeling.
- 44+ years editing existing models and 10+ years for more complex creations; experience with scan‑to‑CAD or point cloud reverse engineering is a plus.
- 5Familiarity with CAD automation or scripting using Python, iLogic, NX Open, or VBA is advantageous.
Who Should Apply
Ideal candidates are hands‑on CAD specialists who excel at turning briefs into robust parametric models. You bring a strong sense of accuracy, a knack for documenting design choices, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly. Prior experience across multiple manufacturing processes and a comfort with assembly level work will help you thrive.
