Assistant Volleyball Coach Horizon HS, 1.0 FTE
Overview
Own the development of student athletes and drive safe, high impact practices for Horizon High School volleyball. You will design activities, monitor academics, and ensure compliance with district and state rules while serving as a positive role model. Collaborate with the athletic department and community partners to support a competitive program. This role offers hands on coaching at the varsity, JV or junior high levels and requires district volunteer approval.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build game plans and drills to improve team performance and individual skills
- 2Design and implement practice activities ensuring safety and adherence to rules
- 3Lead supervision of student athletes during all participation activities
- 4Monitor academic eligibility and provide interventions to maintain eligibility
- 5Maintain records for compliance, equipment, schedules, and statistics
- 6Communicate with parents, officials, administrators and community to share information and guidance
- 7Oversee uniforms, equipment, and facilities to ensure safety and readiness
- 8Teach sports techniques, tactics, and sportsmanship to prepare for competition
- 9Assist with program events and related duties to support efficient operation
- 10Perform other related duties as assigned to sustain program effectiveness

- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Criminal Background Clearance
- 3Arizona DPS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- 4Ability to obtain district volunteer approval for Chaperone / Community Volunteer / Volunteer Coach
- 5Proficiency in organizing and communicating information and concepts
